(SOLD) Study off Botticelli’s “Madonna van de Magnificat”

Description Botticelli’s painting of the Madonna is one of my favorites. Surrounded by the angels with the child Jesus on her lap, this painting explodes with color and light. The original has gold leafing all throughout, though mine does not. Highly zoomed in just to Mary’s face, the serenity, beauty, and humility of Our Lady can clearly be seen. She, to whom the angel announced the greatest of news, God mad Man in her womb, gave all the glory to God saying “My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord, my spirit rejoices in God my savior, for he has looked with favor on his lowly handmaiden”. ——- This alla prima study is part of my training arc for painting the Litany of Loretto Marian series, which I’ve begun to develop on my Patreon!
